Our Disney World Vacation

Day 2

WOW!!! What a long day.

We'll start with HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Sarah!

We started out the morning with breakfast at Cape May Resort over by the EPCOT Center. It's a very large hotel. We had breakfast with Goofy, Minnie, and Chip. As you can tell from the photos on the way over there it was cloudy and windy. A storm was approaching that would rain on us for most of the time at the Animal Kingdom. But I'm getting ahead of myself...

Can you see the button on Sarah's chest. It says "Happy Birthday, Sarah." Every time one of the cast members saw that they would wish her a happy birthday. And I mean 'every' cast member, even the street sweepers and cashiers. Everyone wished her a Happy Birthday.

Sarah took this photo with her camera just before I had her and Mandy turn around so I could take their photo for myself. We were on our way to Cape May Resort where we had breakfast with...

Minnie...

Chip...

and Goofy.

After a filling breakfast we caught a bus and headed out to the Animal Kingdom. We were met at the gate by Rafiki, from "The Lion King."

We could match his blue bottom...

While we were out there we were rained on a little, but we saw cool African animals and rode the Expedition Everest roller coaster quite a few times. Not as many as Janet and Sarah. I think they went a total of 10 times, six times in a row while it was raining and no one else wanted to wait in line.

Come evening we were somewhat dried out and caught a bus back to the Magic Kingdom to take advantage of extra hours for the guests that were staying in the park resorts. I don't know how many people actually stay in the park resorts, but it wasn't all that busy. The extra hours started at 9pm and lasted until 3am. It was cool. By midnight the park was getting clearer, by 1am it was almost empty, by 2am we were running from ride to ride without any lines to wait in. It was great...I guess you could say, we were fit to be tied we were having so much fun...

Janet and Sarah were the only ones willing to ride on the log flume. The rest of us chickened out because we were nice and dry by this time.

And by this time (2:45am) Mandy was ready for bed...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Sarah!!!!!

Liz says that she wore the button but no-one noticed it... so she thinks it was the HAT that got the happy birthdays :o) I guess it pays to PAY for your vacation... we got in on "freebie" tickets from Lesselle's mom... so can't complain for the most part :o)
Liz is still crying that we didn't get to meet up with you guys... literally over my shoulder looking at the pictures.... time to get a new dry shirt for me now!!!
